Ovations' corporate social investment (CSI) strategy aims to:
From 2007 through to 2009, we provided bursaries for two students from Ikageng Itireleng, a Soweto-based NGO that cares for orphaned and vulnerable children. The bursaries covered tuition, transport and textbook fees for two students studying in the ICT field. Ovations also provided the students with notebooks to help them with their studies.
In addition to the bursary programme, Ovations' employees engaged with Ikageng by taking part in volunteer days, including running a career workshop where children learnt how to draft CVs and present themselves in interviews. We also assisted school-leaving children with career guidance and psychometric tests.
During 2009, Ovations became actively involved in supporting Oliver's House charity organisation. Oliver's House successfully manage two feeding programs, a children's care centre, an education centre and a computer training centre. Ovations has donated funds and materials to Oliver's House as well as spending days volunteering at the feeding program and children's care centre.
Ovations also donated funds to The Hope Factory in 2009. The Hope Factory focuses on improving the lives of unemployed people through training and equipping them to create wealth and become financially productive. Operational since 2001, The Hope Factory has put almost 700 people through its 15-week training courses which cover a range of technical, business and life skills. Mentorship, evaluations, advice and support are also given to course participants
Apart from our close association with various charity organisations, Ovations and our employees participate in a range of charitable events, including the Bed Race and the Cansa Corporate Shavathon.
