Ovations announces OneStream - an end to end business process management, case and content management suite

EPOneStream is Ovaflo's existing case management framework, now seamlessly integrated with Microsoft's Sharepoint for Enterprise Content Management and K2 Blackpearl for business process management.

"Although Ovaflo is an extremely powerful case and work management framework and user experience, we at Ovations found that customers often struggled to understand how the principles of BPM case management and ECM empowered by SOA should integrate with each other" says Mr.Emile Pepermans, Director of Solution Centre at Ovations.
"By partnering with Microsoft and K2, we have been able to bring all of these enterprise components together into one bundle. Now, clients are able to implement the OneStream architecture with the knowledge that they will not only benefit from the Ovaflo toolset with regards to case management but also from K2.NET BlackPearl as a process management tool and Microsoft SharePoint 2010 for enterprise content management".

Misys and Ovations partner to bring powerhouse of services and solutions to financial services sector.

JFOvations Group has signed a strategic partnership agreement with Misys International Financial Systems, a member of the Misys Group of Companies. The partnership brings to the local market, a key end-to-end solution that leverages the expertise of Ovations as a niche business transformation solutions provider and Misys' ability to deliver mission critical solutions and services to the financial services sector.

Trends in the South African banking sector still show cost reduction and product agility as top priorities for both first and next tier banks. Local banks are also increasingly targeting new geographies and new customer segments to drive revenue growth. A flexible platform that supports these value drivers is key to any expansion strategy and revitalisation initiative.

"The timing of this partnership is ideal for capitalising on the market trends, but also in expanding our existing client portfolios primarily in the area of core banking, which is a key strength of the Misys value proposition," says Jacques Fouche, Core Banking services lead for Ovations.

The partnership will see Ovations become Misys' preferred channel partner in South Africa, expanding the footprint for the UK based organisation and in so doing, extend its financial services sector team and expertise.

A Management Consulting Perspective from Jaco Kotze, Head of People Capital Management

Rachel StevensonAt the core of management consulting, is the need to always know more than your client about a changing technology and industry landscape, underpinned by market conditions and workforce shifts. This inherent expectation from clients hasn't changed, but in the last five years, the client priorities, and market conditions have necessitated the kind of agility that keeps management consultants relevant.
In 2006/2007 if you asked clients what their priorities were, undoubtedly, the words consolidation and outsourcing would have been used, to describe where the business was going.
During the recession of 2008/2009 and early 2010, client priorities were on cost cutting and staff cuts, or at best, a hold on new hires. More conservative spend and prioritising of investment, if any at all. Read More>>

What are businesses failing to address from a technological and process maturity point of view, by Rachel Stevenson.
Although the concept of business process management through a corporate lens is not a new one, it is an approach which is continuously fine-tuned and updated to suit the exponential rush of new technologies that are being brought to market each year
The method of aligning business processes in favour of greater efficiency and organisational effectiveness is persistently being affected by the ebb and flow of international technology tides.

As a result of this, there is an ever present need to re-address what business process management means to the South African business sector as a whole. How are local businesses responding to the pressures of transforming business process management in an increasingly digitised world, and what impact is this having on the maturity of these processes? Marius MareSuppy chain processes need to be treated as assets
Organisations need to view their supply chain processes as real assets rather than just a means to an end, a mindset change that will enable them to improve the consistency of service they deliver. This is the view of Marius Mare, consulting director at Ovations, the Johannesburg-based business transformation firm. “If a company installs a manufacturing machine it takes proper ownership of it, it registers it, it trains its staff on it, and it conducts regular maintenance on it,” points out Mare.
